Is anyone else scared that our government can tax specific people on top of normal taxes, remove CEO’s from private businesses, and intervene in our ‘free market’ in any way they deem necessary?
If things continue on this way I might have to start wearing green tights and traipse around in the woods.

I have a lot of questions and comments on this but I am not 100% comfortable expressing them here where others can read them. but yes, I too am worried by this. I think I am more worried that the general public doesn’t seem to be worried.

I got a real good e-mail on this topic the other day. I think I still have a copy of it somewhere, but basically it’s from an editorial written in a British newspaper (not a tabloid, mind you) that basically says if the Americans are wanting to try such a system now they should look to their political elders (the British, French, Swedish and former USSR and see what they are changing from, and why they are changing from it. The remmoval of personal desire to improve one’s live by working harder AND getting rewarded for their extra effort just doesn’t work when anything you do above whatever the government decides is ‘normal’ takes away incentive to try to do more with your life than the minimum, because you’ll end up with the same as everyone else anyway, (Paraphrased, of course, it’s too darn late to be making total sense, but I just got home from youth group and got all the other errands run on the way home) and am trying to get caught up on a few things so I can go to work in the AM unexpectedly - we’re on a day to day who knows who is working when schedule until Dennis’ knee surgery is scheduled for sure with the blessings of his wife, cardiologist, anestheiologist and every other ologist we can think of. Poor man…I doubt he’ll have much of a knee left to fix if they don’t get to it and they’ll have to go straight to the replacement instead. And it’s darned hard to type well in the dark since David’s asleep and I’m still awake after all thje evening’s sctivities. Whine, whine…..
