Wow, it seems like just the other day I was getting ready for the end of the earth as Y2K - the biggest non-event in history - loomed near. Now, it’s nearly 2008, almost a decade into the 21st century. Still no flying cars, I’m disappointed.

Anyways, I’m not big fan of resolutions since I usually fail quickly and then feel bad for a whole year. Like the year I resolved to be really good at something (anything really, I figured I’d be broad and increase my chances) and after a couple weeks of still being mediocre I got kind of depressed. Seriously though, I do have some things in mind as ‘goals’ and if you care, you can read them after the jump.

1. Stay devoted – to God, family, and work. Honestly if it weren’t for those 3 things, the only thing I’d have to focus on would be me and that would get old real fast.

2. Write! My writing has slacked off big time since the summer. It’s time to get back on track, maybe even write that book that will make me hundreds of dollars – or a hundred even.

3. Stretch myself musically. I don’t really consider myself a musician and I’d like to change that.

4. Lose a few pounds. What kind of New Year’s list would this be if I didn’t include something about weight loss. I’ve gained a few pounds recently due to inactivity and good eatin. Jess and I are going on a 3 day smoothie fast to start out the New Year and use a free trial at a gym to get back on track.

5. Decide who to vote for as ‘leader of the free world’. Don’t you just love that title? I seriously have no idea and have come to the conclusion that whoever raises the most money should get my vote. I hear our country is like a gazillion dollars in debt, so someone who can raise a lot of money should probably win.

6. Reduce my carbon footprint. I have no idea what that means but Al Gore (inventor of the internet) inspired me.

7. I can’t really think of another goal but Christians don’t like to leave things hanging at 6…it’s evil.
