Hmmmm Hmmm Hmmmm

Over this past year I’ve been balancing out a bit theologically/doctrinally speaking, as I’ve reflected more on my charasmatic background. I’m in the process of writing down some thoughts which I will post in the next week or so but in the meantime check out a classic early 90’s song that actually digs on the charasmatic a bit in the 3rd verse. Enjoy!

Turducken

I’m probably a little behind but I found out about an amazing dish this Thanksgiving that I may attempt some day. It’s called a Turducken and it’s a Turkey stuffed with a Duck, stuffed with a Chicken.

Nasty or Delicious?

This genius idea along with Pizza Hut’s Lasagna Pizza got me thinking about other possible combinations of my favorite food.
Here are a couple of my ideas:

Hotburzza
Cheese pizza topped with sliced hot dogs and mustard between a sesame seed bun. That’s delicious!

Porchickstick
Pork stuffed with chicken stuffed with mozzarella cheese sticks. Now that’s finger licking good!

and my dream dish…

Triroastamignon
Tri-Tip Steak wrapped in Roast Beef with a Filet Mignon center. Beef-a-licious!

Excuse me while I go look for some lettuce to eat.

Fatherhood - Week One

It’s been one week since my life entered a new phase - fatherhood.

Right now fatherhood consists of poopy diapers, less sleep, and complete amazement. Looking at my son (it’s still crazy to say the word ’son’) so many thoughts and questions fly thru my head.
What will he look like at age 3, 10, 16, 21? What will his passions be? Art, sports, music? What will our relationship be like thru all the phases of life? While I type these things out it’s hard to hold back tears.

Just like with marriage, biblical parallels that seemed vague are starting to come more into focus. I never quite got the relationship between God and his church when compared to a marriage relationship until after Jess and I married. Now at the very beginning of fatherhood I’m beginning to see and understand love on a different level, a fatherly one. I can only imagine the joy and pain that will come with this new phase and I am acutely aware that through these coming years my relationship with God will grow as my relationship with my son will. Not only that but it will give me a greater desire to love, respect, and honor God in a new way.

“I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love.” John 15:9

I thank you God for this incredible blessing of my son and pray that you reveal yourself in a deeper way to me, as a Father!

Happy Birthday!!!

Well the big day finally arrived - Jude David Fouche came into the world yesterday afternoon!

Around 4am yesterday morning contractions started and by 3 in the afternoon Jess gave birth to our firstborn. She was a champ going totally natural with no pain killers at all. Jude is healthy and happy and Mom and Dad are already sleep deprived and will probably remain that way for a while. There are some pictures below as well as a short video clip. I’m warning you ahead of time that you have never seen a baby boy as cute this one.

Church stuff

In an effort to spice things up a bit on Sunday Mornig I’ve been stretching my creativity and doing some cheesey video announcements for my church using Window Movie Maker, which is pretty limited. Anywho here’s a sample.

Waiting

Tomorrow is the due date!
We saw the Mid-Wife a few days ago and without going into details the signs are good that he’ll be here within a week or so. So now we wait!

Your prayers are appreciated, we can’t wait for the dude to get here.

Virtual Border Patrol

“I love technology, but not as much as you, you see.”

The WWW has now joined with paranoid Americans to bring you Texas Border Watch. All you have to do is complete a free sign up and you too can be a vigilante helping to crack down on all those needy people crossing the border.

Governator

Growing up in a small town in Northern California as a High Schooler it would have been big news if the Governor came to town, let alone if said Governor came to my High School, let alone if said Governor was Hollywood Star Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Click here to read about the Governor visiting my old High School yesterday.
