Update!

I don’t do the personal update thing enough, so here we go…
I’ve recently awakened from my turkey coma after having a really good Thanksgiving with both parents - dinner with my Mom and dessert with my Dad (among other people assembled at both locations). I have now been on full time staff at First Covenant Church for over 7 months. It’s been extremely challenging but I love it. My heart is that people would see Jesus and the Church in the same light.
My brother Matt is currently living with Jess and I as he tries to get back on his feet. Keep him (and us) in your prayers. My brother Ben is two months into his 5 month outreach in Cambodia and is thriving. God is using him big time and giving him vision for the future. I’m proud of you bro!
My beautiful wife of 28 months recently became a licensed nurse with the state of California and after finishing the crazy busy nursing program has taken on two jobs. She’s working as an assistant manager with Jitter Bean Coffee Co. and as a nurse at Seaview Nursing Home. She’s also co-leading the Children’s Ministry program at our church. Yup, she’s busy!

God has blessed us both so much with good family and friends and this season makes us think about that even more. Blessings to you all in the coming weeks, make sure you don’t get so busy with parties and shopping that you don’t take the time to reflect on how good He is!

Coolio

Back when I used to buy singles on tape one of my favorites was Gangsta’s Paradise by Coolio. Where Coolio went after that I never new, until just recently that is.
My homie Delvyn in So-Cal recently bumped into the one and only Coolio. As you can see times have been tough on the brotha and though his rap skills are greatly diminshed, apparently he still knows how to smoke weed.

Ah, Cozy Winter!

Nothing says winter like curling up with a good book, a hot cup of java, and a mustache.

Shoots!

Dang, another weekend already?!

Last weekend was a blast hanging out with our buddy Brian (The Sampler) Contival. We ate, drank, and made merry as we chilled with our good friend for possibly the last time for quite a while.
We also learned a couple things:
- The Lost Coast looks nothing like Ireland or Scotland this time of the year. It looks like dry rolling hills. Go in Spring.
- Sal’s Myrtlewood Lounge looks exactly like I imagined it. Sarah you owe me $2 since you weren’t singing. :)
- If you ever need motivation for why you need vision in your life - go to Sals (or any bar/club in Humboldt). You’re bound to run into at least one friend from High School who still loves to get drunk and be an idiot.

Airman Contival!

Yes, we are going to be graced by the presence of our friend and comrade Brian Contival this weekend. The beer will flow like wine and mayhem will ensue. We might also check out the new chill spot in Humboldt.

If you haven’t checked this out yet it’s pretty cool.
Google Earth allows you to fly to any location on earth and get an up close view. This is a picture of our apartment complex.

Sonic Weapon

This is a bit recycled but I still think it’s cool.
Pirates and Sonic Weapons - sounds like a old skool meets new skool.

Ah, Monday!

Another lovely weekend has come and gone…and it’s still raining.
Jess and I had a low key weekend which consisted of cleaning house, watching a movie, and a lovely dinner at an Irish Pub (scroll down to see my pappy - with the guitar).
